This program will give students a strong base on satellite technology, its applications, space economy, career opportunities, etc. This initiative is robust approach made by the SSERD Team to reach out too many students

About SSERD
SSERD is an NGO that completely focuses on Space Education and Outreach, it has reached beyond 50,000 students in India and abroad through space talks, space treks, Astro Space Camps, Stargazing, Student guidance in internships, projects, World Space Week, National Science Day activities and many more. At SSERD, our core priority is middle school students, as these children tend to dream big and begin identifying their future careers. Our model of teaching is STEM-based and practical. With our practical and hands-on activities, we seek to induce both soft and specialized skills of engineering, mathematical thinking, coding, critical and analytical thinking, team building, etc.
We have been able to connect with students ONLINE during this pandemic and brought us an opportunity to reach out to 20,000+ students around the world. Our online courses are more interactive and online simulations base

Paper presentation on Satellite Design Ideas
To all the amateur engineers out there!
We bring to you a satellite design challenge to explore the intricacies involved and precision planning required to design and launch a satellite successfully. The objective of this challenge is to propose a concept CubeSat, equipped with maximum possible science experiments inside it. This event is targeted to develop a interest amongst Junior College Students and Undergraduate Students on the CubeSat Technology.
- The problem statement with detailed explanation on the CubeSat Mission requirements will be shared here on 4th of October. The Problem Statements will also be shared through the registered emails of the participants.
- Participants are to come up with detailed mission plan describing the various components housed for experiments, powering systems, satellite control and commanding systems, operation life-time with relevant supporting references, calculations and simulations.
- The report should not exceed a page limit of 10 pages (excluding references and cover-page). The font size should be set to 11 and the font style as Calibri.
- The report is to be submitted in a PDF format in the submission link that will open here on October 5th
- The report has to be submitted before 7:59 PM IST on 8th of October
- The reports with plagiarised content will be disqualified. Hence it is recommended to perform a plagiarism check before uploading and ensure that the plagiarism percentage is well below 10%
- The top three design reports will be selected for final presentation on 10th of October

The legend has it that the knot of Gordius’ wagon was so complicated that many men deemed it impossible to untie. However, it just took a pinch of wit for Alexander to conquer the same! You need not travel all the way across the seven seas to track the treasure. The satellites will do it for you only if you know how to read them!

- This is an online treasure hunt event, suitable for individuals above 16 years of age
- The event requires the participants to know how to use online satellite position tracking websites
- The rules and workings of the treasure hunt will be briefed on October 5th at 7:00 PM IST
- The event will run for a span of four whole days starting on 5th of October up to 9th of October

No matter how beautiful the quill is, all it matters in the end are the words it is used to scribe! As we celebrate the World Space Week 2020, this is an opportunity for the word warrior in you to prove that pen is mightier than sword. To all the science writers out there, we bring you this platform to tell the world about the story of satellites.
- This is a blog writing contest, suitable for individuals above 14 years of age
- The topics for blog writing will be unveiled here at 8.00 AM IST on 6th of October
- Participants are to choose on of the topics and proceed with their writing with appropriate titles
- The final content has to be submitted in the form of a PDF with word count not exceeding 1000 words (excluding references)
- All the images and content, if any, taken from external resource has to be sited properly at the end of the document
- The writings with plagiarised content or published elsewhere will be disqualified.
- The PDF has to be submitted in the submission link that will open here on October 6th
- The PDF has to be submitted before 7:59 PM IST on 7th of October

- This is an online quiz event, open for students from Grade 8 to Grade 12
- The details about the platform for prelims and the instructions for the event will be shared through emails on your registered email id, on October 6th
- The prelims shall commence sharp at 5:00 PM IST and end at 5:30 PM IST on 7th of October
- Top 10 participants from the prelims will be invited for the final round scheduled on the same day at 7:00 PM IST

An important key to Science is imagination. Our eyes are limited by what we see but our mind is limited by the extent to which it can imagine. Here we bring you the opportunity to spill your imagination on a white parchment. The palette of stars is at your disposal to color the unreal. Let your skilled fine color strokes bring your thoughts to life as we set to explore the impacts of satellites on our modern world.

- This is an individual event that is organised in two categories
Junior Category – below the age of 16 years
Senior Category – 16 years and older
- The participants are expected to design a hand made posters using water colors, acrylic pains or any other colouring material of their choice on a A3/A4 sized white sheet
- The themes for painting will be unveiled here at 8.00 AM IST on 8th of October
- A clear scanned copy/photograph of the poster must be uploaded in the submission link that will be put up on the same day
- The deadline for the submission is 9:00 PM IST of October 9th
- Participants are allowed to make only one submission and are expected to fill proper details during submission
- The results will be disclosed on 10th of October during the Valedictory Ceremony

Do you think that the use of satellites in the modern world is completely driven by the race for space dominance or is it just a hatch from the past? Do you think you have what it takes to slay the opponent’s view with your sharp razor words? Are you tired of being a satellite individual to other’s opinions? Here we present to you the platform for battle of words in the realm of stars.
- This is an online debate, open for Junior College Students (Grade 11 and Grade 12) and Undergraduate Students
- The participants who have registered for the event before 4th of October shall receive a link through their emails for a preliminary round which will be active till 8.00 PM IST of October 5th
- The link would contain 2 topics and the participants are to express their argument both for and against the topic within the given space and constrained with a word limit of 50.
- Top 20 students from the preliminary round will be selected for the pre-final round scheduled on 9th of October at 6.00 PM IST
- Top 8 students will be selected for the final round scheduled on the same day at 7.00 PM IST
