Applications are now open for our #GirlsInSTEM aerospace mentorship program with Society for Space Education Research & Development – SSERD in Bangalore. Opportunity for girls(13-18 years) to explore a career in space technology, receive access to guest lectures and an industrial visit to a space tech company. Mentorship Dates: September 14th to October 19th, every Saturday from 2 PM to 5 PM.

In India, only 4 out of every 1,000 youngsters venture deep into science. The statistics get worse when we look at only women accounting for science. It means the land that’s given the world some of its best scientific minds often struggles to create the next generation of scientific women leaders.

SSERD in partnership with Unherd.in, introduces the GirlsInSTEM program – a collaborative initiative that is looking to spark interest among young girls(13-18 years) about space engineering, science, and technology.

Through this program, early exposure and access to our innovative lab; the program will seek to inspire and equip more girls to think about a career in the space industry. Not only does the program aim to
educate and train girls about a career in aerospace but will demonstrate ways to showcase the importance of their contribution to space science through industry visits and guest lectures.

By the end of the program, SSERD GirlsInSTEM program will educate girls from schools of Bangalore about space technology, providing them with access to mentors, resources, and knowledge that will help them to realize that the sky is not the limit.

This opportunity is brought to you in association with Unheard. The registration is open till the 25th of August. Students will be shortlisted based on interviews and the seats are limited to 30.
